The first half of 2017 was a natural continuation of the projects started in 2016, but also an important development and expansion in the international market for The World’s Smart Cities Organization (WSCO).
WSCO’s work has focused on participating in major European events dedicated to the smart city industry, exchanging expertise with similar international associations, maintaining strategic partners, partnering and collaborating protocols with the most representative authorities in the field, working with the experts of the association to provide expertise to public institutions, participation with expertise and co-organizing several national events, organizing their own events, developing the SCBB Smart City Business Breakfast Network Network, editing the Smart City Magazine magazine, co-opting members within the association, as well as joining as a member of the professional associations in the EU.
Participations in INTERNATIONAL EVENTS (presentations, speaker, invitations, organizer).
January has begun in Brussels with the participation of WSCO, through the President of the Organization, at the invitation of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) at the UITP Annual Meeting, but also at the UITP 2017 New Year Reception on 19/01/2017 at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium. Also in Brussels on 16/01/2017 WSCO President Eduard Dumitrascu participated in Cyber Security and on 17/01/2017 at Smart Finance – ECIPE & World Bank Seminar: Economic Uncertainty-Feedback Loops Between Advanced and Emerging Economies.
London was the next international event, this time at IoT Tech Expo Global, an event that brought together more than 100 exhibitors and more than 200 speakers around the world from 23-24 / 01/2017. Another important event for WSCO’s organization was Transport Ticketing Global 2017, which was also held in London, the Olympia exhibition center, during the same period.
In February, WSCO attended the event organized by the European Committee of the Regions (CoR): Investing in Europe: Building a Coalition of Smart Cities & Regions, held on 7/02/2017 at the CoR.
In March, WSCO participated in the SEAF Investor Forum in Milan (8/03/2017), where testing of the SEAF IT Platform took place.
MARCH 2017 – WSCO organizes the first edition of the Smart City URBAN Projects international event (30/05/2017). At the event, they announced their entry into the market, exclusively through WSCO companies in Poland, Finland and the UK. The event was the first smart city dedicated solutions and products. The event will be held annually.
WSCO was invited to Budapest (3/05/2017) at the SmartPolis Workshop on Smart Cities in Central and Eastern Europe, where they presented presentations on the opportunities of the Smart City Industry in the region WSCO President Eduard Dumitrascu and Mrs Sarolta Besenyei, Vice President of WSCO, Expert CE.
Also in May, this time in Bucharest, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, WSCO organized the International Expertise Exchange China – Romania Business Opportunities event (22/05/2017), which brought together a delegation of representatives of the administrative and business environment in China, and enjoyed the presence of numerous representatives from the Romanian authorities, including Mr. Secretary of State Stelica Fudulea, Ministry of Business, Commerce and Entrepreneurship.
June JUNE marked the participation of WSCO President at IoT Tech Expo Berlin, Europe’s largest Internet of Things (IoT) event, held in Berlin (1-2 / 06/2017), as well as in Brussels at the China-EU SME event Cross-Border Investment and Trade Conference, 2 June 2017, represented by the Director of the Project Implementation Department.
